Uso de GeoGebra en el estudio de la integral definida y su influencia en el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes de bachillerato

Abstract

Abstract: The research was carried out at the Pío Bravo Educational Unit, a sample of 23 students from the third year of high school was used. The main objective was to evaluate the impact of using GeoGebra software in teaching the definite integral and its influence on academic performance. The hypothesis, proposed was: Using GeoGebra in learning the definite integral positively influences students academic performance. A quantitative approach, with a quasi experimental design, was employed and the necessary information was collected through questionnaires. These instruments were applied in two phases with the same group: A pre test was used after the pedagogical intervention in a traditional way, and a post-test after using the GeoGebra software. The results showed that the students after using the software obtained an improvement of 1.28 before the evaluation that was carried out in the first phase. The statistical test applied was T-student which shows a significance level (p) of < 0.03 which suggest there is a significant difference in the arithmetic mean. From the data obtained it is concluded that the use of GeoGebra in learning the definite integrals positively influences academic performance.
