Salud mental en trabajadores sanitarios durante la pandemia de COVID-19 del sector sur de Quito en el año 2022

Abstract

Abstract: COVID-19 disease affected all the society, nevertheless healthcare workers, who worked in front line during the pandemic, were those of the most affected people in their physical and mental health at their social, family and work enviroment. So, there came up the need of determining the mental health state of healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic in the South of Quito in 2022. The evaluated variables were: anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, sleep quality, psychological Inflexibility and loneliness perception. Therefore, a non experimental, explorative, descriptive, cross sectional and cuantitative study was designed to evaluate 42 healthcare workers by applying psychological tests, including: MBI, DASS-21, AAQ-II, UCLA-3, and PSQI. The results showed that participnts did not have high levels of burnout, although their personal accomplishment was affected. In addition, there would be more prevalece of severe and moderate levels of anxiety over stress and depression. It was also noticeable these workers tend to be psychologically flexible and tend to perceive social support. Additionally, they have low and medium difficulty to fall asleep.
