Inventario Vial de la Vía Gonzanamá Quilanga como aporte al Observatorio de Seguridad Vial

Abstract

Abstract: There is the misconception that roads consist only about the pavement layer on which the cars move. However, the road infrastructure consists of several elements and structures that have a mutual interaction, such as gutters, culverts, concrete walls and areas prone to the occurrence of geological events. In order to have an updated database on the main characteristics of these road elements, this road inventory project has been carried out, specifically of the Gonzanamá Quilanga highway, in which some problems have been identified in terms of to the functional conditions of its road infrastructure, and the information collected will contribute to future maintenance and conservation plans. Given that currently, most of the information is handled with the intervention of computational systems, the results of the present road inventory have been stored in a digital database for easy consultation and access, which contributes to the expansion of the Vial Security Observatory database of the of the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja.
