Abstract

Abstract: This project analyzed the uses and conflicting interactions between people - wildlife in the southwestern buffer zone of the Yacuri National Park. For its development, semi structured interviews were applied to a population sample of families affected and not affected by this conflict. The results obtained correspond mostly to the conflicts they have had with wild species, among them the attack of poultry stands out as the main conflict, followed by the attack of cattle and finally the damage to their crops. To repel these conflicts, those affected have taken various measures to safeguard the integrity of their animals. It is necessary to develop measures between the Ministry of the Environment, Water and Ecological Transition (MAATE) together with environmental NGOs to implement training programs on the management of wildlife, a tool that must be taught to all residents of the area to guarantee the good wildlife management and the reduction of people-wildlife conflicts.
