Planificación estratégica de rutas de ciclismo de montaña cross country en paisajes rurales del cantón Rumiñahui

Abstract

Abstract: In recent years, the use of bicycles as a means of transport, sports and leisure has increased, especially in places removed from cities and rural areas in order to have contact with nature and admire the landscape. The combination between cycling and admiration of natural, cultural and visual elements for tourism development purposes has not been much explored. The objective of this study is to generate a technical and innovative proposal that promotes mountain cycling in the Valley of the Chillos. Specifically in parishes Rumipamba and Cotogchoa. To this end, a qualitative diagnosis of the offer was carried out from the perspective of landscapes as well as a quantitative analysis of the profile, preferences and expectations of mountain bikers. The rural landscapes of Rumiñahui are relevant for their characteristics as a landscape for visual enjoyment, in addition to natural and cultural resources. Additionally, it was possible to identify the needs of cyclists who answered questionnaires using digital media. This analysis finally opts for an innovative proposal for a "hub" cycling center that is viable in a first analysis and that also has a scope to develop tourism through mountain biking in rural areas of the Rumiñahui.
