Impacto de la pandemia COVID-19 en el desempeño financiero de las empresas turísticas, transporte y comercio de la provincia de Bolívar, Ecuador

Abstract

Abstract:The objective of the research was to analyze the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the financial performance of tourism, transportation and trade companies in the province of Bolivar, Ecuador. The methodology used was non-experimental of a descriptive type, which was carried out after obtaining the financial statements of 33 companies in the study sectors, the data were grouped by size and economic activity; subsequently the calculation for the real and counterfactual year, finally the different indicators were applied that made it possible to know precisely the real situation of these companies. The main results show that the pandemic had a significant impact on all segments studied, especially the commerce sector made up of microenterprises and small companies, with an affectation of -50.33% in their ROE, a similar context occurs with the growth of sales in which an impact of -66.96% is observed. the pandemic of COVID-19, also caused a stoppage of economic activities and productive, a condition that generated a decrease in the income of the companies, affecting their financial and business performance.
