Abstract: This research is developed through the framework of Academic Preferences of students of the UTPL Law course and its connection with the Objectives of Sustainable Development (SDG) through the study of sentences; in this regard, it explores SDG 5 and its relationship with gender violence, exemplified through the Núñez case, one of the first cases of femicide that occurred in the province of El Oro, a case in which the defendant tried to evade justice alleging temporary mental disorder, in addition to violation of rights; The General Objective is to reveal the challenges for the implementation of the United Nations 2030 agenda in Ecuador; methods used correspond to the exegetical, inductive, deductive, and descriptive method, among which instruments used is the interview; In summary, it is determined that there is a meager information among the common citizen regarding the SDGs, being the academy the one who most interest in them, involving their students in these investigations, not However, its results are still incipient.
