Abstract: The Sustainable Development Goals constitute mechanisms and goals that the different states that make up the United Nations have signed in order to obtain favorable results regarding respect for and access to justice, dignified life, health and rights of nature, in this sense. , SDG 15, which is framed in sustainably managing forests, fighting desertification, stopping and reversing land degradation, and halting the loss of biodiversity, creates the ideal framework for the central and decentralized governments of Ecuador to implement processes based on in this planning tool. With this work, important bibliographic information has been consolidated that establishes the importance of the rights of nature in the Ecuadorian legal system from the Constitution of 2008, objectively restores the natural cycles and the biodiversity that inhabits it. The study of Judgment 253-20-JH/22 establishes a milestone by arguing that many animals have a central and specialized nervous system, which makes them sentient beings, thus becoming subjects of rights.
