Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this paper was to highlight the importance of environmental transparency within Ecuadorian companies, and how it positively influences their financial performance. In addition, this study aims to analyze the level of financial performance and the level of environmental transparency of the best ranked Ecuadorian companies at the national. The research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. design was applied non-experimental for information processing through the analysis of variables of environmental nature such as the environmental disclosure index and the financial variables ROA and ROE. The results of the investigation allowed to show that a higher level of environmental disclosure by organizations has a positive impact on the profitability of the best ranked Ecuadorian companies in terms of better income, thereby strengthening its financial performance. For their part, companies that reflected zero disclosure of environmental information showed lower profitability in all study periods.
