Abstract: The topic of this research is A descriptive analysis of anglicisms used in Ecuadorian magazines, and it was conducted in Quito using three types of Ecuadorian magazines, namely, cultural, scholarly, and general interest magazines. The cultural magazine is La Casa published by Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana Benjamín Carrión; the scholarly magazines are Gestión and PCWorld; and the general interest magazine is Vistazo. This study used a qualitative and quantitative design. The magazines were entirely scanned for anglicisms which were tabulated in charts to determine the total number of anglicisms, the frequency of each one, and the frequency of anglicisms per variable. The results evidence the fact that the highest number of anglicisms in the researched magazines was found in the scholarly magazines, specifically in the area of technology. As a general conclusion, it can be stated that Ecuadorian magazines tend to use anglicisms despite the fact that many anglicisms have a semantic equivalent in Spanish. Thwƒe author of this research believes the use of anglicisms should be discouraged in order to defend the linguistic nature of Spanish.es_ES
