Percepciones sociales ambientales y turísticas del Área de Intervención Especial y recuperación Laderas Pichincha Atacazo del Distrito Metropolitano de Quito

Abstract

Abstract: This study shows a qualitative analysis of the social, environmental and tourism on the Subsystem of Protected Areas of the Municipality of Quito called Pichincha Slopes Special Intervention and Recovery Area -Atacazo. The approach of research is qualitative, applying the survey technique applied to a total of 194 people from six sectors of the parish of Lloa: CP: Parish head. LV: The Victoria.SJC: San José del Cinto. SJCH: San Juan de Chillogallo. SLL: San Luis de Lloa. OR: Urauco. Information was collected regarding sociodemographic aspects, and five dimensions focused on knowledge about the protected area, perceptions positive and negative social, environmental and tourism. For the six sectors, it was presented a high acceptance of the protected area, reflected in high levels of positive perception In the dimensions evaluated, however, those aspects are equally highlighted. Negatives generally associated with the lack of knowledge on specific topics and training and environmental education process, as well as the inclusion of management of the area and decision making about conservation and management processes.
