Abstract

Abstract: The Rosa Puertas de Cueva Gerontological Center of Ceibopamba was founded by a non-profit organization, currently part of the State and manages to provide housing, medical care, clothing and food for several older adults. Although covers basic needs, has areas with functional problems and environmental comfort somewhat unfavorable for the elderly. Therefore, this thesis aims objective to implement homeostatic architecture strategies to propose a redesign architectural in order to improve both spaces and thermal comfort. In Consequently, an investigation was carried out on the elderly and architecture homeostatic, in addition to the study of the current state of the building, including its ergonomic and thermal operation, all oriented to the perception of its residents, Finally, a redesign proposal was created based on the existing construction. The The results were positive both in the architectural adaptation and in the improvement of the microclimate, in this way, it is concluded that the functionality and comfort can be improved thermal in existing spaces implementing principles of homeostatic architecture.
