Evaluación de la producción de tomate de árbol (Solanum betaceum Cav.) bajo dos sistemas (protegido y semiprotegido)

Abstract

Abstract: The present work evaluated the first production of tree tomato under two systems: 1) protected greenhouse and 2) semi-protected, also determined the relationship of benefit/cost in order to know which of these two systems generates greater profitability during its production taking into account the pros and cons. The Variables analyzed were: number of fruits per plant, fruit weight, fruit length, fruit perimeter, production per plant, total production per hectare and the relationship benefit/cost of each system. The results obtained indicate that there are differences statistics between the two systems in the variables of length, perimeter and weight of the fruit, being better in the protected system. Regarding the variables of number of fruits and production per plant, no significant differences are seen, possibly because it is the first year of production. Regarding the B/C relationship, in this evaluation year no system has a profit, indicating that the protected system incurred more costs due to to the infrastructure.
