Abstract

Abstract: Sustainable development goal 16 is crucial to promoting peaceful, inclusive and just societies, where human rights are respected and access to justice is guaranteed for all citizens. In addition, it seeks to reduce violence in all its forms and promote the rule of law. On the other hand, it will also discuss how compliance with SDG 16 in Ecuador is evident, which is reflected in the Constitution of the Republic, which establishes the legal and political framework for the sustainable development of the country. Regarding the conclusions of this work, it is inferred that the ruling highlights the importance of the existence of prior, clear and public legal norms, which is essential to guarantee the stability and predictability of the legal system, which in turn contributes to the citizens' confidence in it. Furthermore, the publicity of legal regulations is important so that citizens can know and understand them, which in turn contributes to the transparency and legitimacy of the legal system.
