| Abstract: | Abstract: The Political Sociology of Basketball: The Case of the Chicago Bulls, focuses on the impact of the legendary athlete Michael Jordan and his team, the Chicago Bulls, in society and popular culture. The study uses a descriptive methodology and analysis of sources bibliographical, historical documents, specialized articles and unstructured interviews to explore how the success and influence of Michael Jordan and the Bulls have spread further beyond sports, affecting the economy, sports brands, politics, and fashion. The results suggest that the popularity of Michael Jordan and his team has transformed the landscape of the sport and popular culture globally, being the most iconic and representative example of this transformation. |
| Description: | Resumen: La Sociología Política del Basketball: El Caso de los Chicago Bulls, se enfoca en el impacto del legendario deportista Michael Jordan y su equipo, los Chicago Bulls, en la sociedad y la cultura popular. El estudio utiliza una metodología descriptiva y análisis de fuentes bibliográficas, documentos históricos, artículos especializados y entrevistas no estructuradas para explorar cómo el éxito y la influencia de Michael Jordan y los Bulls se han extendido más allá del deporte, afectando la economía, marcas deportivas, la política, y moda.
