| Abstract: | Abstract: The research topic for this paper is "Academic Preferences of Law Students and Their Connection to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the Study of Court Rulings." In this context, the relevance of Sustainable Development Goal Number 16, pertaining to Peace and Justice, is addressed in the legal field. The aim is to examine a ruling issued by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, which highlights violations of fundamental rights such as the right to life, personal liberty, and personal integrity. This ruling reveals problems within the Ecuadorian judicial system, suggesting deficiencies in access to justice. The analysis delves into the behavior of police forces, highlighting the risks associated with a lack of both psychological and technical preparation within this body, and points out the shortcomings in the management of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, which shows significant delays in resolving cases of this nature. |
| Description: | Resumen: El tema de investigación para el presente trabajo es Preferencias académicas de los estudiantes de la Carrera de Derecho y su vinculación con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) a través del estudio de sentencias . En este contexto, se aborda la relevancia del Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible Número 16, referente a Paz y Justicia, en el ámbito jurídico. Se pretende examinar una sentencia emitida por la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos, en la cual se evidencian violaciones a derechos fundamentales como el derecho a la vida, la libertad personal y la integridad personal. La mencionada sentencia revela una problemática en el sistema judicial ecuatoriano, sugiriendo deficiencias en el acceso a la justicia. Este análisis profundiza en el comportamiento de las fuerzas policiales, destacando los riesgos asociados a una falta de preparación tanto psicológica como técnica en dicho cuerpo, y señala las falencias en la gestión de la Comisión Interamericana de Derechos Humanos, la cual presenta demoras significativas en la resolución de casos de esta índole. |
