Comparativa entre los cómics y la saga de películas Guardianes de la Galaxia de la Editorial Marvel

Abstract

Abstract: This thesis presents a comparison between the Marvel Super-Heroes #18, Guardians of the Galaxy (2008) comics and the three Guardians of the Galaxy films (2014, 2017, 2023); the main objective is to analyse and contrast the Guardians of the Galaxy comics and the Guardians of the Galaxy films. In order to carry out this research, qualitative research was employed and through descriptive analysis, we compared compositional elements such as narrative, settings and iconography, and aspects of the characters such as their role, biography, physical and personality characteristics, abilities, powers, identity colours and costumes. The results reveal that the adaptations we see in the films are not one hundred percent faithful to their original works, the comics. While the characters and their essence are maintained, the stories are different. For example, the characters in the Guardians of the Galaxy (2008) comic book are similar to those we see in director James Gunn's three films, but their origins and subplots are different.
