Análisis de la seguridad alimentaria en la población de la parroquia Olmedo del cantón Cayambe durante el periodo diciembre 2019 - octubre 2022

Abstract

Abstract: This research focuses on the study of food security in the Olmedo parish of the Cayambe Canton through the data collection instrument of the Latin American and Caribbean Food Security Scale (ELCSA) and application of Rasch statistical and Logit econometric models. It was found that the majority of the population experiences some level of food insecurity, highlighting the influence of the number of people in the household in this situation. Identifying differences by demographic groups, validating the methodology used. It is recommended to develop educational programs, strengthen local production and promote community participation. The research has a specific chapter of theories and concepts used as the theoretical basis of the research, a methodological chapter, which also highlights the stylized facts of the physical environment and the temporal parameter of the study. In this context, information was obtained from the ELCSA in the parish, and with this the statistical and econometric chapter was carried out, to reach the discussion, finishing the work with the conclusions and recommendations pertinent to this case.
