Abstract

Abstract: Environmental problems in recent years have been the subject of concern not only for ordinary citizens but also for Governments and International Organizations that seek the integration of all countries to fight this crisis through strategies. Environmental sustainability has gained momentum in recent years due to the global climate crisis. Many organizations, including the United Nations (UN), have proposed a series of long term objectives to reduce the impact of anthropogenic activities on the middle. The present research aims to analyze the social, economic and environmental indicators of the Camilo Ponce Enríquez canton and the mining company Produmin S.A through methodologies focused on the literature review, as well as the implementation of a semi-structured survey and based on these results. propose strategies that strengthen the environmental sustainability of the company with the environment. The results found were interesting since it was possible to know and verify that the company Produmin S.A has healthy sustainability indicators that make its environmental management efficient. On the other hand, the indicators of the Camilo Ponce Enríquez canton present interesting data that cause concern especially in the social and environmental sphere, where there is a deficit in coverage of basic services and a high rate of student dropout from higher education despite the fact that the canton and the province have one of the highest per capita incomes in Ecuador. . Likewise, on an environmental level, many of its water bodies are highly affected. In this context, it is crucial to develop and implement effective strategies aimed at raising the environmental quality of the sector, with the ultimate objective of enhancing the quality of life of its inhabitants.
