Abstract

Abstract: The analysis of the Ecuadorian Constitutional Court's habeas corpus ruling in the context of UN Sustainable Development Goal 16 highlights the importance of judicial decisions in promoting justice and strengthening legal institutions. By examining the impact of this legal tool, it becomes evident how habeas corpus can contribute to ensuring justice and improving the effectiveness of judicial institutions. The research interprets the ruling and also includes a thorough review of the relevant literature as well as the jurisprudence applied to the case. This rigorous methodology allows for a better understanding of the role of habeas corpus in the context of SDG 16 and how it can be key to promoting justice and peace. This study not only contributes to a deep understanding of the intersection between constitutional law and sustainable development, but also offers insights into how these issues may influence the preferences and future specialization of law students.
