Abstract

Abstract: This work presents a proposal for adaptable and progressive rural housing for the Trapichillo Alto parish in Catamayo. The objective is to provide a social housing solution that responds to the changing needs of users and promotes gradual growth according to their capabilities. After analyzing the existing typologies, a modular, flexible and expandable home of 50m2 was designed. The proposal incorporates passive bioclimatic strategies for a comfortable habitat in a semi-arid climate. Among them, the north-south orientation, the use of cross ventilation, solar collection and the use of vegetation as insulation. In addition, the solution was adapted to the irregular topography of the terrain. The contribution lies in a comprehensive response that combines the changing needs of the rural user with a sustainable and progressive design. The house has an accessible construction system, promotes self-sufficiency through rainwater collection and integrates productive areas. It represents an alternative for social housing that is contextualized and sensitive to the socioeconomic reality. In this project, we will explore efficient resource management, the application of innovative construction techniques and the consideration of environmental factors.
