Abstract

Abstract: The present document focuses on the design of an international cooperation project for the implementation of Agroforestry Nurseries as a strategy to mitigate deforestation in the La Victoria de Imbana Parish, Zamora-Chinchipe, Ecuador in the year 2024. The research highlights the importance of this strategy to counteract the negative impacts of deforestation on biodiversity, environmental sustainability, and local communities in this specific region. There is an emphasis on the need to thoroughly analyze the implementation of agroforestry nurseries in this parish to understand their effect on deforestation mitigation and the promotion of sustainable socio-economic development. The project aims to promote the production of forest, ornamental, fruit, and medicinal plants, as well as to generate employment opportunities and support local hydroelectric projects in socio-environmental responsibility. This initiative closely aligns with the objective of the Opportunities Creation Plan 2021-2025, which seeks to promote sustainable development and environmental management in the region.
