Abstract

Abstract: The main objective of the present research is to examine the academic distinctions of law students and their relationship with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the study of judicial decisions. This endeavor aims to identify and select a specific SDG that correlates with the analyzed judgment. Throughout the research, several key aspects have been identified, including the significance of the SDGs in conjunction with the rights implicated in the subject judgment. The relevance of integrating the SDGs in the pursuit of justice and a harmonious environment is underscored. Particularly, the focus has been on SDG 16, which aims to promote just, peaceful, and inclusive societies with effective, accountable, and transparent institutions. To achieve this goal, a systematic method has been followed in the research, ensuring a structured analysis of the legal issues presented in a ruling issued by the Ecuadorian Constitutional Court. This approach enables understanding the current relevance of the SDGs, especially when applied in the detailed study of specific legal situations. This study concentrates on the intersection of law students' academic preferences, the SDGs, and the analysis of judicial decisions, aiming to elucidate how the SDGs can influence the advancement of equality, harmony, and institutional integrity within the legal sphere.
