Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to relate the content of the criminal branch with Sustainable Development Goal No. 16 "Peace, Justice and Solid Institutions", through a cassation judgment granted by the National Court of Justice; in which a fair judicial procedure is guaranteed, complying with the principles of effective judicial protection, and due process. A case that, in its final judgment, verifies the justice of which SDG 16 speaks, and the transparency of the National Court in its decision. However, not everything is always perfect; The lack of transparency is a characteristic situation today, as we will see in the theoretical part of this article. This prevents the fulfillment of the stated objective; and, therefore, contributes with other factors to maintaining the longed-for global sustainable development, as a utopia.
