Abstract: The objective of this work is to analyze the academic preferences of students of Law and its relationship with SDG 16 on peace, justice and strong institutions, in particular. The research is based on the hypothesis that the knowledge that students acquire in the subjects of their grade may not be useful in dealing with the current legal problems. Through an information sheet delivered to the students, the most difficult tasks, the deciding factors and the skills acquired throughout the career. In addition, research is carried out about job prospects and postgraduate options. The signing, the study of sentences and searching in legal databases refers to the methodology. Between The conclusions are the need to strengthen skills related to new types of conflicts, promote interdisciplinarity and encourage commitment social. The ruling 12-17-SIN-CC of the Constitutional Court of Ecuador is analyzed. which states that some rules relating to participation programs in personal gains are partially unconstitutional because they violate rights constitutional when applied unjustifiably to certain mandatory subsidies. He The work ends with recommendations to improve the processes of knowledge of the right, better coordination of public policies with the SDG and the strengthening of the fundamental principles in constitutional rulings.
