Abstract: He/ícobacter pylorí discovering has put forward that this bacterium colonizes gastric mucous and it constitutes the most common casual agent with sickness related with stomach (Pajares 2006). An alternative of diagnostic methods is serology which adjusts to our reality, and base on accessibility of tests, and efficiency it looks for the cost benefit in order to offer the most adequate treatment to patients. The objective of this study is to determine the diagnostic efficiency of lgG serology to H. pylori, epidemiologic factors which predispose the infection and the cutting point to local population. In the serologic study were evaluated 150 patients, 100 patients presented infection by H. pylorí and 50 didn't present the infection. Histology was used as ideal standard to obtain efficiency parameters and the curve of performance for lgG. The cutting point was established in 20ul/ml with a sensibility and specifity of 97.51 % and 85.71 % respectively. Serology is a valuable tool to H. pylorí infection diagnosis in populations where prevalence is high, because of its low cost and easy realization, a result with a value superior to cutting point suggests with mayor efficiency that patient presents infection by pylorí H.es_ES
