El apagón analógico y las oportunidades de incorporación de la televisión digital terrestre en el Ecuador

Abstract

This research collects the experience of Ecuador and specifically the Loja city, in terms of the transition to digital terrestrial television (TDT) based on the history of television, collecting experiences of some Latin American countries and observing public politics after the take decision to opt for the Japanese - Brazilian standard, ISDB – Tb, this also analyzes the opportunities, benefits and possible drawbacks that arise when we apply this technology. With the results obtained through the research the status of private enterprise (Loja, Quito and Guayaquil television channels) the process of adoption of TDT, the benefit it represents and the problems that arose, in addition to quantitative data on the degree of knowledge and society preparing the imminent analog TV blackout, is to give a guideline to future researchers and government agencies, to create strategies to reach society with the aim to maximize the characteristics of open digital television.
