dc.description	Resumen: El estudio de competitividad dentro del campo económico constituye un análisis de gran relevancia en las últimas décadas, sin embargo, los diversos estudios realizados se basan en el análisis de competitividad de países o de las principales ciudades del mundo sin considerar a las diferentes unidades territoriales que conforman cada nación, bajo este contexto, la presente investigación identifica el nivel competitivo de los cantones en el Ecuador, por medio de la estimación de factores mediante el uso de un método estadístico de análisis factorial, se seleccionaron variables que disponen de la información a nivel cantonal para el año 2010, con esta información se estiman los factores más influyentes en la competitividad de cada cantón. Los principales resultados identifican a los cantones de Quito, Guayaquil, Cuenca y Ambato como las ciudades más competitivas en el Ecuador. A través de estos cantones se presenta un perfil competitivo basado en la oferta de condiciones propicias para la localización de establecimientos (empresas y negocios), cobertura de servicios urbanos y un ambiente adecuado para el desarrollo de las actividades comerciales y manufactureras.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	Abstract: The study of competitiveness in the economic field is an analysis of great relevance in the last decades, however, the various studies are based on the analysis of the competitiveness of countries or major cities in the world without considering the different territorial units According to this context, the present research identifies the competitive level of the cantons in Ecuador, through the estimation of factors using a statistical method of factor analysis, we selected variables that have the information at the level Cantonal for the year 2010, with this information are estimated the most influential factors in the competitiveness of each canton. The main results identify the cantons of Quito, Guayaquil, Cuenca and Ambato as the most competitive cities in Ecuador. Through these cantons, a competitive profile was presented based on the offer of the favorable conditions for the location of establishments (businesses and businesses), adequate urban services and an adequate environment for the development of commercial and manufacturing activities.	es_ES
