Evaluación del desempeño de los médicos en torno a la toma de decisiones compartida en el Hospital UTPL en el periodo julio 2012marzo 2013

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of the research was to analyze the doctor patient interaction around shared decision making at the UTPL Hospital. It was a descriptive, quantitative, observational, cross-sectional study. Of the universe of 22 outpatient doctors, a sample of 5 of the specialties of Gynecology, Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Family Medicine were taken; sampling was non-probabilistic for convenience; the covert observation was used by audio recording of 13 medical consultations, which were analyzed using the OPTION Patient Observation Scale. Of the 5 participating physicians, 4 apply the deliberative model; there was no great difference between physicians in treating dyspepsia and family planning, which were the health problems raised. It was concluded that 80% of the participating physicians apply shared decision-making, even though they do not reach an optimal level, and that daily health problems such as dyspepsia and family planning can be treated by different specialties, and not one (for example Gastroenterology and Gynecology)
