Abstract

This paper first addresses the three traditional learning resources: puppets and their origin, contemporaneity and classification; the children's songs that talk about the possible ways of learning through dynamics activities, songs and games; and the Mexican corridos that tell the story of popular songs that became famous for illustrating people who could not read or write during the Mexican revolution. Secondly, the study analyses the steps to design a puppet theater and the theatrical script for these puppets, based on the children's song "La Pastora." Finally, the paper shows the results of the adaptation of the children's song to the puppet play entitled "La Pastora" which explains the features of each character, the message of the play and its purpose, as well as photographic evidence of the process to elaborate the author’s puppets. It also describes the steps prior to the staging and the results obtained after performing the play.
