Abstract: The seismic engineering and Seismology Research Group of the UTPL has generated a Virtual seismic Engineering Laboratory (VLEE) (Http://www.ingenieriasismica.utpl.edu.ec/?q=laboratorios), which has several Sub laboratories related to seismic protection systems, buildings, bridges, among others. The structural elements such as "cables" or "tensors" have not been addressed so far, this is why the present final degree project is focused on generating the cable lab called "Cable structures" which allows to perform static analysis of Cables subject to punctual and distributed loads of different configuration. With the completion of this FDP, the source codes were developed in the Basic language for the 4 experiments: Parabolic cable, catenary cable, cable with point loads and elastic catenary cable. In this way the Cables laboratory is an effective tool for students, as well as analysis of real projects. In front of the application of the tool "Elastic Catenary Cable" can be evidenced in the project "Metrocable Medellín - line k" when modeling the cable structure of the Case Study.
