Diseño de un programa de educación ambiental para la protección del cóndor andino Vultur gryphus en el cantón Saraguro

Abstract

It is estimated that in Ecuador they inhabit 102 condors, 11 of them in the province of Loja, canton Saraguro. The problem is that people do not know the presence and the importance of the species of the factors that cause it to disappear. For this reason, an Environmental Education Program was developed for the conservation of the condor and the canton in Saragoça, directed to students of different educational centers of Gera, San Antonio de Cumbe and El Tablón.

This research paper set out three objectives. To determine the level of knowledge of the students about the species, through surveys; The actions that served to carry out the Environmental Education and Dissemination Plan were identified. The field work counted on the participation of the Municipality of Saraguro. The research concludes that one of the main factors contributing to the threat of the Andean condor is the lack of knowledge about the importance of the species by the population, there is interest to participate in its conservation and considers it important to implement a program of Environmental Education on the condor.
