dc.description	Los seres humanos hemos asociado a ciertos grupos de fauna con elementos negativos del convivir diario, para muestra el caso de las rapaces nocturnas (búhos y lechuzas), a las cuales se les atribuyen poderes oscuros y atracción de “mala suerte”, generándose mitos y leyendas relacionadas con ellas. El presente estudio se orientó a determinar el grado de conocimiento, percepción y actitudes que tiene la ciudadanía de Catacocha respecto a estas aves nocturnas. Mediante el uso de 377 encuestas dirigidas a hombres y mujeres con distintos rangos de edad que van desde los 6 hasta los 85 años, se definieron las actitudes y percepciones que los pobladores de esta localidad tienen sobre los búhos; y, revelan que el 71.81% de la población tiene interés por conservar estas aves. Por otro lado, el 37,50% piensa que son de mala suerte o mal agüero y en un 23,94% mencionaron que son peligrosos. Adicionalmente, se encontraron diferencias en cuanto al nivel de conocimiento entre los distintos estratos de edad, siendo las personas de menor edad quienes poseen más información en cuanto a los búhos.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	Human beings have associated certain groups of fauna with negative elements of daily living, to show the case of nocturnal raptors (owls and owls), which are attributed dark powers and attraction of "bad luck", generating myths and legends related to them. The present study was oriented to determine the degree of knowledge, perception and attitudes that Catacocha citizens have regarding these nocturnal birds. Through the use of 377 surveys aimed at men and women with different age ranges ranging from 6 to 85 years, the attitudes and perceptions that the inhabitants of this locality have about owls were defined; and, reveal that 71.81% of the population has an interest in conserving these birds. On the other hand, 37.50% think they are unlucky or bad omen and in 23.94% mentioned that they are dangerous. Additionally, differences were found in the level of knowledge among the different age strata, with younger people having more information about owls.	es_ES
