Abstract: The objective of this research determines the levels of financial education in the partners of FAPECAFES, an organization of popular and solidary economy of Ecuador whose social and business dynamics are interesting for the study. The analysis focuses on the dimensions knowledge, behavior and financial attitude within the assessment of financial education in the organization. Applying a survey called ENFIN and considering the recommendations of OECD established the financial education levels of the partners. The results indicate that these levels are low, especially regarding knowledge and financial behavior. Only the seven percent have high level from financial education. The study also shows that although the results are not very encouraging on the financial issue, these people already show a horizon aimed at saving and financial planning towards the future thanks to their past experiences, which is why it is recommended to start an education process and awareness.
Description: El objetivo de esta investigación determina los niveles de educación financiera en los socios de FAPECAFES, organización de economía popular y solidaria de Ecuador cuya dinámica social y empresarial es interesante para el estudio. El análisis se centra en las dimensiones conocimiento, comportamiento y actitud financiera dentro de la valoración de educación financiera en la organización. Aplicando una encuesta denominada ENFIN y considerando las recomendaciones de OCDE se estableció el mecanismo para determinar los niveles de educación financiera de los socios. Los resultados indicaron que estos niveles son bajos, especialmente referente a conocimiento y comportamiento financiero. Solo el 7% poseen nivel alto de educación financiera. El estudio también muestra que a pesar de que los resultados son bajos en la dimensión conocimiento financiero, estas personas muestran un horizonte encaminado al ahorro y la planificación financiera hacia el futuro, gracias a sus experiencias pasadas producto de un proceso denominado alfabetización financiera.
