Abstract

Globally and nationally the highest rate of deaths is due to traffic accidents, and each time these accidents leave more human and economic losses. All this problem is the product of the lack of responsibility, ignorance, lack of education and compliance with traffic laws and regulations. Currently Automotive Engineers design vehicles with the best safety controls to save lives, in the same way Civil Engineers have the responsibility to design with the strictest rules of road safety, roads, streets, etc. The problem begins that some adults do not become aware and change their way of acting in front of the steering wheel or in public, this implies that road education must start from childhood. For this reason, this thesis had as purpose to develop a document to encourage the formation of road attitudes, which illustrates activities that strengthen positive road habits, looking for road actors to modify their behavior and behaviors to reduce the number of accidents on the roads of the country. To achieve the objectives, five phases were carried out: data collection, analysis of the most relevant causes of traffic accidents, selection of the most probable causes of traffic accidents, description of the positive and negative behaviors carried out by drivers and pedestrians for Then elaborate the didactic material related to positive behaviors. This document will be delivered to teachers and students. The data collection was made based on the main causes of accidents, reported by the National Traffic Agency. The preliminary document was tested in a school in the city of Loja, where certain changes suggested by teachers and children were made, then the modified document was validated in a rural school.
