Deficiencia Intelectual y su relación en la autoestima de los estudiantes de Bachillerato en Educación Técnica de la Unidad Educativa Isabel de Godín de la ciudad de Riobamba

Abstract

Abstract: In the present research study, intellectual deficiency and self-esteem are examined in high school students. Through a selection and analysis process, we work with 5 students, who present different types of disabilities, according to the disability card issued by the Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador. The main objective of this research is to establish the incidence of intellectual deficiency in the self-esteem of the students of the Baccalaureate in Technical Education of the Educational Unit "Isabel de Godín" of the city of Riobamba. The design of the research is descriptive and correlational. Therefore, two psychological reagents were applied, the Mayo Test being the one that helps us determine the cognitive level and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, which determines levels of self-esteem. The data analyzed suggest that students who present intellectual deficiency are vulnerable to presenting low and medium self-esteem levels, on the other hand, when students achieve higher scores in both items, the lower the intellectual deficiency and the higher their self-esteem levels.
