Propuesta de plan de gestión integral para los residuos sólidos generados en la cabecera parroquial de San Juan de Muyuna, cantón Tena, provincia de Napo

Abstract

The objective of this research is to understand the perceptions and opinions, beliefs and attitudes of the population about water quality, citizen participation, gender equity and environment in the canton. A quantitative methodology was used. The sample of the study is composed of 56 people between 18 and 65 years old, residents of Santay Island (province of Guayas). The analysis indicates that there is a high sense of environmental awareness among the inhabitants of Isla Santay regarding water quality, gender and environmental equity. Likewise, the study indicates that the people surveyed know about the causes of pollution, but very little is known about the levels and types of contaminants. It was also identified from the analysis that there is a willingness to change to improve environmental conditions, suggesting the implementation of environmental education programs that include all sectors of the population.
