La sobrecarga y funcionalidad familiar del cuidador de personas dependientes

Abstract

Abstract: In this research work we review the levels of overload and family functionality of the caregivers of dependent people who come to the health system in the south of Quito, among the main factors that can influence the subjective burden is the age, the time of care, financial remuneration and family support of the caregiver. The research was developed in the period August 2017 to January 2018, where 15 caregivers of people with conditions of disability, serious long-term illnesses with immobility and elderly were interviewed, who were selected and applied Zarit Overload Scale and Apgar Familiar, with the purpose of identifying the correlation that exists between overload and family functionality. This work has been done with the support of authors who have assessed the overload of caregivers, establishing a quantitative and correlational study, through statistical analysis and correlation coefficient it is concluded that the relationship established between the Overload Level and Family Functionality; detecting that they have overload and family dysfunction.
