Currently a large number of emerging diseases affecting the consumer have been identified, most are of infectious etiology and are largely of zoonotic origin, the species Arcobacter requires special interest and is considered as an emerging pathogen, its main source of contagion are foods of animal origin that have not been adequately treated. The objective of this study was to identify the prevalence of Arcobacter spp in raw milk. Fifty samples of cow's milk were collected during two months from suppliers in the city of Loja and Zamora Chinchipe. The DNA extraction was performed by means of Multiplex-PCR, only Arcobacter butzleri 18% was identified. The results of antimicrobial susceptibility showed resistance to: nalidixico acid 100%, tetracycline 77.78%, ampicillin 44.45%, ciprofloxaciona 44.45%, erythromycin 33.33% while for gentamicin present 100% susceptibility. The results obtained in the present investigation provided information on the health risks associated with the consumption of raw raw materials and expressed high rates of resistance to antibiotics commonly used at the veterinary level.-
