Abstract: The optical tweezers are tools that may or may not be associated with a microscope system, the success of its function is due to the alignment of a set of elements, and these systems are used in various fields of study to trap objects or microorganisms. In biology these systems of optical tweezers are useful since they allow us to manipulate microorganisms in vivo. The optical tweezers allow us to "capture" them without causing them harm and without having contact with these objects or microorganisms since it is not an invasive method, and it allows us to capture one or more microorganisms in order to characterize them. In this work we implement a system of optical tweezers and we check its effectiveness by performing several tests trapping micro-particles and microorganisms. The implementation of this system of optical tweezers occurred through the identification of elements that are required and the use of the elements available in the laboratory. The results were a functional optical tweezers system with which it was possible to manipulate micro-particles and microorganisms of the order of 8μm.
