Abstract

Religious tourism is increasing throughout the world, becoming an important engine of local economic development. However, investigations concerning this topic at Duran are scarce. This document tries to rescue the traditions, the history of their churches and processions of the Canton, which have been highlighted as a tourist attraction, for his contribution to the cultural identity of the community. The research design is not experimental, being a descriptive study which is used as a tool for collecting information, interview with key informants and faithful in general, with special reference to the Catholic religion. Through this work, is the need for the identification of the cultural manifestations and their respective digital broadcasting of the researched material, by means of a mobile application, so that it may be known by the population. This work must be coordinated between the authorities of the municipality and Church, to encourage interest in the places or religious events of Duran and develop its economy.
