Description: | Abstract:The general objective of the study was to obtain the incidence and survival of patients diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer through an immunohistochemistry study at SOLCA hospital located in the city of Loja during the period between January 2010 and December 2014, to determine the prognosis of the disease. Firstly, the information required for making the incidence charts and survival curves was taken from the database of this hospital. The results of the investigation showed that the incidence is the 10.15%, where the women who were between 40 and 50 years living in urban areas of the city were in higher risk. Moreover, the overall survival acording the clinical stage in patients with triple negative cancer is 86.7% for clinical stage II, 76.9% for stage III and 0% for stage IV and it should be emphasized that stage IV patients died in less than 3 years after their diagnosis. In addition, there were no patients in clinical stage I in this study. |
