Description: Resumen:The research about the ex-post evaluation of the Ecuadorian Red Cross Recovery Plan was conducted in the province of Manabí, in the cantons of Pedernales and Sucre. Nine communities, which were affected by the earthquake of April 16, 2016, were included in this study. The assessment was based on a descriptive evaluation regarding the organizational and functional context of the Cruz Roja Ecuatoriana and how this entity was prepared at its maximum capacity in order to respond to emergencies and adverse events due to natural disasters, in this case the earthquake in Manabí. Evaluates whether the pertinence of the intervention in the affected communities was consistent and coherent to the main necessities of the population in need. Analyses the efficiency and effectiveness ratios, which measure how the resources were managed and the time frame used during the recovery process and the accomplishment of the goals in relation to what has been planned. Finally, it analyses the sustainability degree of the intervention, the managerial and institutional capacity, the availability of the economic resources and the support of related entities in order to continue and stay for a period of time with the goods and services of the affected communities.
