EFL Classroom management and its impact in the development of learning activities in large classrooms in a public high school.

Abstract

Abstract:Classroom management is indispensable during the class in order to help teachers use a variety of strategies to keep learners organized, attentive and orderly. This research included three important factors such as managing conduct, teacher instruction and time management during the activities, The main purpose of this study is to examine and establish the influence of classroom management during group work, pair work in large classes in a public high school of Catacocha town located in Loja a place at the north part of Ecuador. This research took a total sample number of 172 students (86 males and 86 females) who correspond to the first and second years of baccalaureate. This sample population was chosen for our research project and the data collected from the participants was obtained and analyzed providing the final results. This student sample consists of 100% of the first and second year students in the public high school. A mixed method was applied to answer the research questions in this study. Likewise, the use of questionnaires, surveys and observation sheets were used to obtain data regarding time management, teacher instruction and managing conduct during the activities.
