Propuesta de plan de gestión integral para los residuos sólidos generados en la cabecera cantonal de La Joya de los Sachas

Abstract

Abstract:In Latin America and the Caribbean, the management of solids waste has represented a problem due to the high volumes of solid waste generated by citizens and when the management of these is not adequate, it can affect health and the environment. In La Joya de los Sachas there are places where waste collections is not performed, and is proposed a plan for the integral management which includes the mentioned sectors. A diagnosis of the current situation was developed, using tools as surveys, interviews and observation visits, the solid waste was characterized, in order to analyze the results to generate a Solid Waste Integrated Management Plan. The current waste management system of the cantonal head covers approximately 90%, remaining to cover the new neighborhoods that have been integrated into the urban area. There is the disadvantage that the population does not classify or reuse waste, so training is necessary in this regard and It is proposed the creation of plans to solve the existing problem: plan for the expanded collection and a plan for the creation of a mobile application for telephones.
