Estado del conocimiento de los vertebrados de la Región de Endemismo Tumbesina, Ecuador Perú

Abstract

Abstract: The area of endemism Tumbesian is considered one of the most important and biodiverse regions of the planet, however, and likewise constitutes one of the regions most threatened by the impact of human activities. For a long time, this region has been the subject of countless researches, there being an important number of publications on various aspects present in it, among them on the vertebrates that it houses. Until now there was not an adequate systematization of all existing information, which is why the present work was oriented to define a methodological model for the search, collection, systematization and analysis of information on birds, mammals, amphibians and fish continental ones present in this region. A total of 269 publications were recorded, 96 on birds, 51 on amphibians, 52 on mammals, 38 on reptiles and 32 on inland fish. The period with the highest number of publications corresponds to the years 2010 - 2018. This information constitutes the first real approximation of the degree of research on vertebrates in the Tumbesian region.
