Abstract

Abstract: The present investigation was carried out in the educational units "Severo Espinoza" and "Manuel Agustín Aguirre" of initial, preparatory and elementary from 2nd to 3rd. Year of Basic General Education whose ages ranged from 4 to 8 years of age belonging to the coastal regime. With the aim of diagnosing the level of media skills that they have. The technique of the survey and instrument questionnaire is applied; qualitative carried out with the direct and participatory observation of the students where the level of knowledge they had about the management and use of technological resources was evidenced; those who have a deficit in media skills and little guidance from parents on the correct handling of technology; It should be noted that children use ICTs out of curiosity and self-learning without a proper methodology during the teaching-learning process and taking advantage of media education in the classroom; being essential the implementation of "media education" as a transversal axis in the planning of teaching units and the generation of spaces for the authentic practice of technological means and information with its monitoring.
