Abstract

Abstract:The present investigation has as premise: analyze, discern and disseminate the corresponding architectural production in the middle of the 20th century in the city of Loja, from the approach of one of the first members of the CAL (Colegio de Arquitectos de Loja), the architect Jorge Montalvo Navas Rendón. The development of this research consists of analyzing retrospectively the aspects that influenced the development of this architecture. In the same way, its biographical profile is analyzed and documented, in such a way that it reveals its transcendental experiences and experiences that constituted as fundamental base in its logic of thought in the development of architecture. Subsequently, a chronological catalog of his most important works is made and the state in which they are located is briefly summarized from their original state to the present. Finally, its architectural praxis is hermeneutically approached in such a way as to establish a point of reflection and interpret the binding relationship of "modernity" in the architectural work of the referring architect, in the same way, its most representative work is graphically illustrated and analyzed from its formal, functional and constructive configuration.
