Abstract

Abstract:The research entitled "Media competences in children aged 4 to 8 years of Isidro Ayora school, province of Azuay, 2018-2019 school year" was applied in order to diagnose their level of media skills. It was developed in the School of Basic Education Isidro Ayora of the city of Paute, pertaining to the Educational District 01D06. In addition to the author of the work, 157 students aged between 4 and 8 years also participated in the research. In the research work, the following methods were used: Analytical-Synthetic, that allowed to decompose the subjects of study in subtopics. Inductive-deductive to structure and elaborate the theoretical framework that sustains the work carried out. The structured survey applied to students was the main instrument used to collect the information that was then systematized and presented through tables and statistical figures. In conclusion, it is established that the majority of students investigated in the dimensions of ideology and values, and of production and diffusion demonstrate low competence. In the dimensions of Language, Reception and Interaction and Aesthetics, high competence is evidenced.
