Percepción y opinión de ecuatorianos sobre realidad socio ambiental nacional: Análisis del cantón Centinela del Cóndor, provincia de Zamora Chinchipe

Abstract:This study was carried out with the objective of knowing the perception of citizens of the Centinela del Cóndor canton, Zamora Chinchipe province, in relation to the opinion of the population on issues of: environment, water, markets, quality of life, participation and democracy, and equity. The purpose of this work is to build a national database that can be used for dissemination and research, thereby contributing to improving national public opinion studies in the country. 363 people from the three parishes of the canton were surveyed, both rural and urban, the most important results found are that more than half of the population does not have drinking water and only has inorganic garbage collection, which significantly affects their Health and the environment. In addition, they mention that it is very important for them to protect the environment and that there are still many inequalities between men and women. All denotes that not all the needs of the population are covered and it is necessary to create more ordinances focused specifically on the care of natural resources.
